Outcome of intracranial aneurysm clipping: analysis of first 35 cases

چکیده
Sub arachnoid hemorrhage due to ruptured intracranial aneurysm is a major healthcare concern because of its fatal consequence and also the potential to be fully treated if acted upon on time. It constitutes 85% of nontraumatic SAH cases. 1 The incidence of intracranial aneurysms have been found to be as high as 1% in males and 2% in females in the UK. 2 Although the incidence of patients presenting with routine headache, later found to have ruptured intracranial is very less, strikingly around 10% of patients who were otherwise intact, but had “severe and worst headache of their life”, on further workup were found to have a ruptured intracranial aneurysm. 3

Surgical Protocol and Outcome of 60 Cases With Intracranial Aneurysm
Background and Aim: This study aimed to present the results of early and delayed operation on patients with ruptured brain aneurysms. In addition to comparing the results and rates of morbidity and mortality in the surgical procedure and identifying the effective factors, this study aimed to provide methods to improve the treatment of brain aneurysm. Methods and Materials/Patients: This was a ...
متن کاملCerebral hernia induced by intracerebral hematoma in patients with poor-grade ruptured intracranial aneurysm: emergent surgical treatment without angiography
Cerebral hernia induced by intracranial haematoma in patients with poor-grade ruptured intracranial aneurysm is a severe disease, which is associated with high mortality rates. This study aims to discuss the treatment principle of cerebral hernia caused by intracranial haematoma due to ruptured intracranial aneurysms-without preoperative angiography. 17 patients of cerebral hernia induced by an...
متن کاملClinical outcome and ischemic complication after treatment of anterior choroidal artery aneurysm: comparison between surgical clipping and endovascular coiling.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Although coiling has been favorably comparable with clipping for treatment of most intracranial aneurysms, there is a controversy on which modality is safer for anterior choroidal artery (AchoA) aneurysm. We retrospectively evaluated the clinical outcomes and treatment-related complications after surgical clipping and endovascular coiling of AchoA aneurysms. MATERIALS A...
متن کاملCoil embolization versus clipping for ruptured intracranial aneurysms: a meta-analysis of prospective controlled published studies.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Coil embolization is an alternative to clipping for intracranial aneurysms. However, controversy exists regarding the best therapeutic strategy in patients with ruptured aneurysms, and there is great center- and country-related variability in the rates of clipping versus coiling. We performed a meta-analysis of prospective controlled trials of clipping versus coil emboliz...
متن کاملOutcome from "rescue clipping" of ruptured intracranial aneurysms during induction anaesthesia and endotracheal intubation.
Eight patients with ruptured aneurysms during induction anaesthesia and endotracheal intubation underwent an emergency "rescue clipping" of their lesion. Three patients died. Of the five survivors three made a good final recovery, one patient was moderately disabled and one remained in coma. Conservative management of this crisis is doomed to failure but the comparatively good outcome of the op...
